JYP Entertainment is expected to launch four new groups this year, hence, stock market analysts are recommending people to buy stocks from the agency, according to Koreaboo.

On January 22, Business Post  reported that JYP Entertainment is planning on introducing three more groups following ITZY’s debut. The report adds that the said agency plans to debut a total of five groups on the course of two years. It already launched Stray Kids in 2017 and just recently introduced ITZY this month.

ITZY is the first girl group under JYP since the debut of TWICE. According to Koreaboo, since TWICE achieved massive success, there are high anticipations for ITZY.  Industry experts claim that ITZY will definitely have a positive impact on the company as the other major labels are focusing on debuting their boy bands than girl groups.

Here’s what industry analysts would have to say:

“With BigHit and YG Entertainment’s boy groups debuting this year, the competition between boy groups will be high. On the other hand, the competition between new girl groups will be nearly nonexistent, so most of the focus will go to JYP Entertainment’s new girl group.”

“The label will be launching ITZY, who are set to debut this February, along with three other idol groups in order.”

As reported by Jazmine Media, Financial researcher Lee Ki Hoon said there will be a huge competition between rookie boy groups this year, YG Entertainment, Big Hit, and Mnet are all planning on debuting new boy groups this year.

Big Hit Entertainment has just officially revealed the final lineup of Tomorrow X Together or simply TXT, which was highly anticipated since it is the first new group from the agency since the launch of BTS in 2013.

Jazmine Media adds that competition among rookie girl groups is not as fierce. Financial researcher Lee Ki Hoon says ITZY will be the center of attention among rookie girl groups.

JYP Entertainment was founded in 1997 by South Korean singer-songwriter, record producer, record executive, and reality television show judge Park Jin-young. The agency was listed on the KOSDAQ in 2001 and has since produced many of South Korea’s most prominent K-pop acts, including Wonder Girls, Rain, 2PM and g.o.d.

According to Billboard, the year 2018 has been one of the company’s most successful, with TWICE dominating Asian markets and GOT7 recently debuting on the Billboard Boxscore Hot Tours list after their July show at The Forum in California grossed $1.3 million. In January 2018, JYP overtook YG for the second place spot in the Big 3.

Last December, Forbes reported that for the past 10 years, SM Entertainment, YG Entertainment and JYP Entertainment have consistently produced acts that have led K-pop’s growth both in the country and internationally. Dubbed the “Big 3,” these South Korean entertainment companies have spearheaded the K-pop scene, producing dozens if not hundreds of songs a year and driving much of the momentum of the local music industry.
