BTS begins Asian tour in 8 cities, tops Oricon weekly chart

November 14, 2018

Globally popular South Korean boy band BTS has topped Japan’s Oricon weekly singles chart with its new Japanese single.

The band’s ninth Japanese single “Fake Love/Airplane pt. 2” took the first place on the chart with 454,829 Oricon points, according to the chart updated on November 13, 2018. The score is counted based on album sales.

BTS became the first foreign artists to surpass 400,000 points with an album in the first week of release. The album has stayed atop the Oricon daily singles chart for six consecutive days since being released.

K-pop girl group TWICE debuted at No. 1 on the Oricon weekly albums chart with its latest EP album “Yes or Yes.” The album gained 33,000 points.

“Fake Love/Airplane pt. 2″ contains four tracks — the Japanese versions of “Airplane pt. 2” and “Fake Love,” “Idol (Stadium Remix)” and the Japanese version of “Fake Love (Remix).”

BTS embarked on an Asian tour in eight cities — Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Taoyuan, Bangkok, Singapore and Hong Kong.

The group will perform in Tokyo on Tuesday and Wednesday, in Osaka on November 21, 23 and 24, Nagoya on January 12 and 13, and Fukuoka on February 16 and 17.
